Our Home for the Holidays

The Everett House is ready for Christmas! With our recent move I wasn't sure if I was going to get around to decorating this year, but each day I did a little bit. Now here we are the week of Christmas and it's finally finished.
Our tree is filled with candy canes, gingerbread men, "e" gingerbread cookies for Everett, large snowflakes, ribbons and various red, white & gold ornaments. I also have a hidden Disney Mickie in there too. Can you spot it?
The boxes under my tree tell the story of "The Night Before Christmas". When I was 17 and Sean and I were dating he gave me a promise ring for Christmas. The gift was amazing, but the delivery was even more special. He took me to Mount Charleston to go sledding in the snow. Before the day ended he gave me this rather large and heavy box! When I unwrapped it I started reading the story on the top of the lid "Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...." Inside that box was another box with more of the story. It was the same concept as those babushka dolls. One box inside another, inside another and so on. Once I got to the last box and read the final line, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night", I opened up the lid and there was a gorgeous sparkling ring! That gift meant everything to me. Even though we were just dating I knew he was my forever! The boxes have been with us every since. They bring back such a great memory.

This Mickie was given to us for Christmas last year by our friends who love Disney just as much as we do. Seeing this ornament on our tree adds a little more magic during the holiday season.
One of my favorite parts about decorating is putting up my Gingerbread Village! My mother-in-law gave this set to me a few years back. It puts the biggest smile on my face every year. I was able to get the entire village up while the baby was taking a nap. When he woke up I showed him all of the cute houses, the train station, bakery, ferris wheel.... His eyes lit up and he smiled in aw.  It was so sweet to see his reaction at such a young age.
The Santa Clause has been on repeat in our home. We also love watching Home Alone, Elf and Christmas With The Kranks! You can buy my outfit (leggings, Tunic Top and Lace Duster) by shopping my Facebook Group Page HERE
